UV Light + Historical artifacts = no good!
Preserving East Bloomfield's past for future generations takes some planning (and the right kind of equipment!) Unfortunately, sharing local artifacts with the community can be a challenge, as both natural and artificial light can damage the objects on display. It also limits our ability to borrow other really neat items, because we don't have the capacity to properly display them.
Liberating Honest Abe
The Society would like to share something incredibly special from the archives; a military commission signed by Abraham Lincoln, for Lt. Myron Adams, an officer from Bloomfield, New York. This special document requires a UV-filtering case, to protect the delicate paper from deteriorating, and its ink from fading.
